Chinese FM extends condolences over deadly explosion in Pakistan

BEIJING: Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Monday extended condolences to Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar over a deadly explosion in the Pakistani capital of Islamabad.

In his message, Wang said he was shocked to learn that the explosion caused heavy casualties, and China strongly condemned the attack.

Wang, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, said the Chinese side mourned for the victims, and extended sincere sympathy to the injured and the bereaved families.

China resolutely opposes all forms of terrorism and will continue to firmly support Pakistan in advancing the anti-terror struggle, safeguarding national security, stability and public safety, Wang said.
