Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti has said that the bodies of 145 terrorists are currently in government custody, adding that militants killed five women and three children in Gwadar in recent attacks.
Addressing a press conference in Quetta, the chief minister said the terrorists were trying to impose their ideology through violence and intimidation. “They want to force their narrative on us at gunpoint, but we will not allow that,” he said.
Bugti stated that the government had prior intelligence about the planned terrorist attack and launched an operation a day earlier. He praised the security forces for their response, saying they fought bravely against the militants.
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, commenting on the situation, said security personnel in Balochistan confronted terrorists “like lions” and thwarted their plans.
The chief minister said such incidents tend to occur whenever Pakistan attempts to move towards stability and development. He rejected any possibility of negotiations with militant groups, saying the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) was not a registered political party but a terrorist outfit.
“You are trying to destabilize Pakistan by carrying out such acts on the instructions of India,” Bugti alleged.
He made it clear that the state would not surrender under any circumstances. “Our blood is not cheap. We will not let them escape. We will turn this land into hell for them,” he said.
Providing an update on security operations, Bugti said the area of Noshki has been completely cleared. He added that there has never been indiscriminate use of force in Balochistan, describing current actions as limited and targeted operations.
