NAB seeks property details of 48 in Rs2 billion RDA transfer scandal

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has directed for property details of eight former and the current DGs of various Development Authorities, along with other individuals, in connection with a scandal involving the transfer of over Rs2 billion into the Official Accounts Security Deposit Account, sources said. In total, NAB has sought property information of 48 people under Section 19, Subsection of the National Accountability Ordinance 1999.

The authorities from whom details were sought include DGs of Lahore, Karachi, Malir, Peshawar, Gwadar, and Rawalpindi Development Authorities. Property details of the current DG RDA, Kinza Murtaza, were also requested. Former DGs Aamira Khan, Chaudhry Maqbool Dhawla, and the late Abdul Sattar Eisani are among those listed.

Additional former DGs whose property information has been requested include Nadeem Ahmed Abro, Gulzar Hussain Shah, Captain Tahir Zafar Abbasi, and Saif Anwar Jappa. Former Directors of Administration and Finance such as Asif Janjua, Shahid Marth, Sohail Kafi, Khalid Javed Goraya, Malik Ghazanfar Ali, and Saba Gul are also included.

The properties of the late Deputy Director Finance Junaid Taj, as well as his father Muhammad Taj and his brothers Afzal, Jamal, Mubeen, and Ehtesham, are also being investigated. NAB has additionally sought property details of all other individuals whose accounts received funds in the controversial transfer.
