Pakistan Super League’s new franchise, Hyderabad, has appointed Jason Gillespie as its head coach.
According to reports, successful negotiations were held between the former Australian fast bowler and the Hyderabad franchise regarding the coaching role, and a formal agreement has been finalized.
Gillespie was previously part of Pakistan’s coaching setup, having been appointed head coach of the Test squad in April 2024 alongside Gary Kirsten, leading the white-ball team.
However, he resigned in December 2024 ahead of Pakistan’s two-match Test series in South Africa following strained relations with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
The 11th edition of the PSL is scheduled to begin in March, with Hyderabad set to make its debut under Gillespie’s guidance.
