Renowned ghazal and classical singer Tarnum Naz has opened up about one of the most painful experiences of her life.
In a recent appearance on a television program, Tarnum Naz shared that she had purchased land with her hard-earned money and built a home according to her wishes. She initially registered the property in her children’s names while they were young, believing it would secure their future.
Reflecting on the decision, she said that as her children grew up and got married, they began asking for a share of the house. She admitted that transferring the property to her children’s names was the biggest mistake of her life, one that continues to cause her emotional pain. She emphasized that while her children remain obedient, the situation might have been different had the property remained in her own name.
Tarnum Naz is remembered for her powerful voice and classical songs on PTV. She trained under Ustad Ashiq Hussain and is often compared to the legendary Noor Jehan. For her contributions to classical music, she has been honored with the Pride of Performance award by the Government of Pakistan.
