Former Pakistan cricket captain Rashid Latif has urged Pakistan to strongly support Bangladesh in the ongoing cricket disputes, criticizing India’s actions as excessive.
Speaking to a private TV channel, Latif said India’s conduct has gone too far, citing incidents such as the alleged threats against Mustafizur Rahman and attempts to remove him from the IPL. He also accused BJP leader Amit Shah, whose son is ICC president, of being responsible for these developments. Latif expressed concern that despite evidence, member countries remain silent due to financial considerations, and stressed that any decisive action by Pakistan will have a significant impact.
Test cricketer Ahmed Shehzad also supported the call, saying that just as India was granted a neutral venue, Bangladesh should be afforded similar treatment. He added that Pakistan must stand by its “brotherly” nation regardless of the circumstances. Shehzad emphasized that even if Pakistan’s own cricket team is underperforming, it is important to support Bangladesh in defending its rights.
