Actor and film critic Kamaal R. Khan, popularly known as KRK, was arrested by Mumbai police in connection with a firing incident in the city’s western suburb. The incident took place on January 18 in Nalanda Society, Oshiwara, Andheri, where reports of two gunshots were received.
KRK was brought in for questioning late Friday night at Oshiwara police station. During interrogation, he admitted to firing two shots from his licensed firearm. Two bullets were recovered from the society premises, one from the second floor and the other from the fourth floor. Police said one flat belonged to a writer and director, while the other was registered under a model’s name.
Initial CCTV footage did not provide any leads, complicating the investigation. However, forensic examination later indicated that the bullets may have been fired from KRK’s nearby bungalow. The motive behind the firing remains unclear.
A case has been registered against KRK under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Arms Act. Police investigations are ongoing.
