Speaker of the National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said he would not allow speeches against Pakistan, the judiciary, or the armed forces on the floor of the National Assembly.

Speaking to the media during a visit to the National College of Arts (NCA), Ayaz Sadiq said he would perform his role strictly as speaker, remaining neutral between the government and the opposition.

He praised NCA as a leading institution, saying it had earned national recognition for producing creative and research-oriented students. He said young people at the university were engaged in meaningful and innovative work.

Commenting on political protests, the speaker said protest was a democratic right as long as it did not involve arson, loss of life, or violence. He added that vandalism and the use of sticks or firearms during protests were a matter of serious concern.

Ayaz Sadiq said no one would be allowed to speak against Pakistan in the National Assembly. He added that debate against the judiciary, judges, or the armed forces would also not be permitted, and only discussion within the limits of the Constitution would be allowed.
He said he remained in consultation with the prime minister, adding that the prime minister did not place restrictions on him. Referring to Mahmood Khan Achakzai, he said the senior politician belonged to the opposition, but the same rules would apply to everyone.
The speaker further said that Pakistan’s economy was improving and claimed that foreign exchange reserves had reached $40 billion. He said Pakistan maintained friendly relations with the United States, China, Russia, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia.
He added that mafias exist in every country and that resisting them was the responsibility of the people.
