Fresh snowfall has begun in the upper regions of Chitral and several areas of Lower Chitral, leading to a sharp drop in temperatures and intensifying the cold weather.

According to local administration and residents, snowfall is continuing in Garam Chashma, Yarkhun, Chiran, Booni, Mastuj, Moor Koh, and Torkhow, while roads in hilly areas have become slippery, causing travel difficulties.

During the snowfall, a passenger Hiace van traveling from Peshawar skidded off the road near the Koraragh area and fell into the Mastuj River due to slippery conditions.

Rescue officials said that one person lost his life in the accident, while ten others sustained injuries. The injured were shifted to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital in Booni, where they are receiving medical treatment.

Local authorities have advised travelers to exercise caution and avoid unnecessary journeys in snow-affected areas, as weather conditions are expected to remain cold and unstable over the coming days.
