Pakistan Navy ships Rahnavard, Madadgar, and the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency ship Kashmir visited Port Sultan Qaboos in Muscat, Oman, where they were warmly received by Omani authorities.
During the visit, Mission Commander Commodore Amir Iqbal, along with commanding officers, met with the Royal Navy of Oman’s leadership. Meetings were held with the Acting Commander of the Royal Navy of Oman, the Director General of Operations and Plans, the Commander of the Maritime Security Centre, the Commander of Said bin Sultan Naval Base, and the Commandant of Sultan Qaboos Naval Academy. Discussions focused on areas of mutual interest, naval cooperation, and maritime security collaboration.
Omani officers and midshipmen toured the Pakistani vessels and exchanged views with Pakistani officers on topics of shared interest. Local military officials and civilians, including a large contingent of the Pakistani community and students from Pakistan School Muscat, also visited the ships during their port stay.
Following the port visit, Pakistan Navy and Pakistan Maritime Security Agency ships conducted a joint naval exercise with the Royal Navy of Oman’s ship Khasab. The exercise aimed to strengthen bilateral cooperation and provide mutual learning opportunities through the conduct of joint maneuvers.
Pakistan and Oman, as maritime neighbors, regularly hold port calls and joint exercises between their naval forces. This visit is expected to further strengthen bilateral naval relations and cooperation in maritime security.
