1 min read

A sessions court in Dadu has sentenced ten police officers, including the SHO of B-Section police station, to seven years in prison each for involvement in a fake police encounter.

The court also imposed fines: the SHO was fined Rs 1 million, while the ASI received a fine of Rs 100,000. The verdict comes after the officers were found guilty of the 2022 killing of a person in a staged police encounter. The case had been filed by the victim’s mother.

Police officials said that following the announcement of the sentence, all ten officers fled the court premises. Efforts are underway to apprehend them.
