The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has arrested seven suspects, including a woman, during five separate operations conducted in different cities, recovering drugs worth more than Rs 302 million, officials said on Thursday.
According to an ANF spokesperson, a total of 268.08 kilograms of narcotics were seized during the operations.
At Islamabad International Airport, ANF officials arrested a man and a woman attempting to travel to Dubai after recovering 82 heroin-filled capsules weighing 560 grams from their stomachs.
In another operation near the Haji Shah Bus Terminal in Attock district, ANF recovered 8.4 kilograms of hashish from a vehicle and arrested the driver.
Similarly, near the Makhdum Interchange in Kot Momin, Sargodha, 6 kilograms of hashish were seized from a car, while two suspects were taken into custody.
In Islamabad, near Naval Anchorage, ANF officials intercepted a car and a motorcycle, arresting two suspects and recovering 3.1 kilograms of hashish and 25 grams of weed.
Meanwhile, a major recovery was made near Old Chaman in Balochistan, where 250 kilograms of heroin was seized during an operation. No immediate details were provided regarding arrests in that case.
ANF said cases have been registered under the Anti-Narcotics Act, 1997, and further investigations are underway.
