A rock climbing championship commenced in Islamabad on Wednesday, attracting young athletes from across the country.
The event was jointly organized by the Alpine Club of Pakistan and the Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC) Division, drawing enthusiastic participation from youth representing all provinces, as well as Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
Boys and girls took part in the competition, showcasing exceptional skill, strength, endurance, and determination during the challenging climbs.
The championship aims to promote rock climbing and mountaineering while fostering self-confidence, resilience, and a spirit of adventure among the youth.
Chairman Alpine Club of Pakistan, Major General (retd) Irfan, said that more opportunities would be created for talented young athletes in the future.
Secretary IPC Division, Mohiuddin Wani, termed the initiative commendable and said the event marks an important step toward the promotion of adventure sports and youth empowerment in Pakistan.
