The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday issued the official notification approving the Practice and Procedure Rules 2025 for the High Court and subordinate courts.
The Registrar’s Office of Islamabad High Court released the notification, confirming that the rules had been approved by the Chief Justice and the bench of judges. The notification states that the new rules have been framed under the powers granted by Article 202 of the Constitution.
According to the notification, the Practice and Procedure Rules were published in the Gazette of Pakistan on February 18, 2025, and have been made effective from February 4, 2025.
In a related development, the Islamabad High Court also issued the notification for the approval of the Establishment Rules 2025, which govern appointments, service conditions, and administrative procedures for court staff. The Gazette notification for the Establishment Rules had earlier been issued on April 10, 2025.
The Registrar’s Office confirmed that the new rules were approved under powers vested by Article 208 of the Constitution, ensuring updated procedures for judicial and administrative matters in Islamabad courts.
