The management of Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Multan Sultans is expected to be led by former Pakistan captain Rameez Raja, with a coaching team including Abdul Razzaq, Mushtaq Ahmed, and Taufiq Umar.
According to sources, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has also reached out to two or three more players to confirm availability for the upcoming PSL season. Abdul Razzaq is likely to take on the role of head coach, Mushtaq Ahmed as assistant coach, and Taufiq Umar as batting coach.
The final approval for the management team will come from PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, after which the Multan Sultans setup for PSL 11 will be officially confirmed.
Abdul Razzaq has previously served as power-hitting coach at the National Cricket Academy (NCA), while Taufiq Umar was batting coach for the Pakistan Women’s cricket team. Mushtaq Ahmed has experience working with Multan Sultans as a spin consultant in earlier seasons.
PSL 11, set to begin in March 2026, will see the PCB manage all Multan Sultans operations for one year, after which the team will go under auction. The previous owner, Ali Tareen, parted ways with the franchise after failing to receive a PSL renewal letter, publicly criticizing the league management and tearing a copy of the legal notice.
The auction for two new PSL teams will be held on January 8 at Jinnah Sports Complex, Islamabad, with ten parties competing to acquire the franchises.
