Pakistani fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi, representing Brisbane Heat in the Big Bash League, has sustained a knee injury, the team confirmed.
Brisbane Heat stated that Shaheen will undergo a medical re-evaluation upon the team’s return from Adelaide. The franchise emphasized that his condition will be closely monitored before resuming any competitive action.
Sources indicate that ahead of the T20 World Cup, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is unwilling to risk the fitness of its star pacer. Shaheen is expected to return to Pakistan on Wednesday, where a tailored rehabilitation program at the National Cricket Academy will be initiated to ensure a full recovery.
