Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) players continued their impressive performance at the National Junior Badminton Championship, advancing to the semifinals across multiple age categories. The championship is being held under the auspices of the Pakistan Badminton Federation.
In the Under-15 category, KP’s Hasnain Khan defeated fellow provincial player Ikram Allah 2-0. In the Under-17 quarterfinals, Abdul Haseeb Khan overcame WAPDA’s Khuzema Shehzad 2-0, while Najam Saqib beat Punjab’s Ahmed Usman by the same margin.
In the Under-19 category, Qari Muhammad Umar defeated Punjab’s Haroon Khurram, and Hasher Shah secured a victory over fellow KP player Farhan Ahmed. In Under-19 doubles, Qari Umar and Abdul Haseeb beat Ahmed Usman and Zain Bajwa to advance to the next round.
In Under-21 events, KP’s Taimoor Khan defeated Punjab’s Ahmed Niaz 2-0. In doubles, Taimoor Khan and Nasrullah overcame Punjab’s Tahir Subhani and Faizan, also 2-0. In the Under-21 girls’ category, KP players Laiba Mushtaq and Marwa Jadun beat Punjab’s Taib Shafiq and Tamiya Qureshi to qualify for the semifinals.
Mian Sadaqat Shah, General Secretary of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Badminton Association, congratulated all players, coaches Hayatullah and Nadeem Khan, and officials for their outstanding performances. He expressed hope that KP athletes will deliver their best in the finals, bringing pride to the province and the country, and wished them continued success.
