Pakistan reaffirms support for Somalia’s sovereignty, offers help at UN

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar received a telephone call from the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Somalia, Abdisalam Abdi Ali today.

During the conversation, the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s full support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Somalia and strongly condemned any actions aimed at undermining it.

The Somali Foreign Minister thanked Senator Ishaq Dar for Pakistan’s steadfast position and for its continued and sustained support for Somalia. He also sought Pakistan’s assistance in raising Somalia’s concerns at the United Nations Security Council.

Senator Ishaq Dar assured his Somali counterpart of Pakistan’s full support for Somalia at the United Nations and other multilateral fora, reiterating Pakistan’s commitment to safeguarding Somalia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
