The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has said that the rain-bearing weather system, earlier expected to arrive today, will now enter Pakistan on December 29 due to slow movement.
According to the Met Office, Lahore and most parts of Punjab are likely to remain dry, while rain and snowfall are expected mainly in the northern regions of the country.
In Lahore, the minimum temperature was recorded at 8 degrees Celsius, while the maximum temperature is expected to reach up to 22 degrees Celsius.
In Balochistan, cold and dry weather prevailed in most districts. Extremely cold conditions were reported in the northern parts of the province, while coastal areas are expected to experience partly cloudy skies.
The Met Office reported that minimum temperatures were recorded at minus 2 degrees Celsius in Quetta, minus 3 in Ziarat, 3 in Zhob, 1 in Qalat and 8 degrees Celsius in Sibi.
Other areas recorded temperatures of 12 degrees Celsius in Turbat, 4 in Nokkundi, 3 in Chaman, 9 in Gwadar and 10 degrees Celsius in Jiwani.
Health experts have warned that the continued dry weather in Lahore is contributing to an increase in cases of flu, cough and cold. They advised citizens to wear masks and consume immunity-boosting foods to protect themselves during the ongoing dry spell.
