Pakistan’s first-ever reality rap show, Rap Icon Pakistan, will be aired in 2026, with the official announcement made by Pixel Entertainment.
According to the announcement, renowned Pakistani rapper Talha Anjum and internationally known artist Bohemia will serve as judges on the show. The programme aims to discover and promote young and emerging rap talent from across the country.
Rap Icon Pakistan will consist of 10 episodes, which are expected to be broadcast around Eid-ul-Fitr. The show will feature between 10 and 12 selected contestants who will compete in various rap challenges. Organisers said early rounds may include eliminations if participants fail to meet performance standards.
Applications have now been opened for aspiring contestants. Interested candidates have been asked to create an original rap track using the words “Rap Icon Pakistan” and submit a video of their performance as part of the audition process.
Producers said auditions and the selection process will begin in January, while efforts are underway to complete the full shooting schedule before the start of Ramadan.
Although this is the first reality rap show of its kind in Pakistan, the format has already proven successful internationally. In the United States, The Rap Game has completed five seasons, while India’s MTV Hustle has played a significant role in popularising desi hip hop.
Industry observers see Rap Icon Pakistan as a new chapter in the country’s music landscape, with expectations that it will provide a major platform for new talent and help bring rap culture further into the mainstream.
