IHC disposes of over 15,800 cases in 2025

The Islamabad High Court disposed of a total of 15,805 cases during 2025, according to the court’s annual performance report released on Friday.

The report shows that single benches decided 11,108 cases, while larger and division benches disposed of 4,697 cases over the year.

Justice Inam Amin Minhas topped the list by deciding 2,039 cases, making him the most productive judge of the court during 2025. He was followed by Justice Muhammad Azam Khan, who disposed of 1,841 cases, while Justice Muhammad Asif secured third place with 1,338 cases decided.

Chief Justice of the Islamabad High Court, Justice Sardar Ijaz Dogar, disposed of 1,223 cases during the year. The report also noted that he concluded hearings in 13 cases while serving as acting chief justice.

Among other judges, Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir disposed of 812 cases, Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani 1,081 cases, Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri 706 cases, Justice Saman Rafat Imtiaz 685 cases, and Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro 529 cases.

Justice Babar Sattar decided 387 cases, Justice Sardar Ijaz Ishaq Khan disposed of 347 cases, while Justice Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzeb concluded 107 cases during the year.

According to the report, a larger bench comprising the chief justice, Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir and Justice Muhammad Azam Khan disposed of 32 cases. Another larger bench consisting of the chief justice, Justice Muhammad Azam Khan and Justice Inam Amin Minhas decided one case, while a separate larger bench comprising Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro, Justice Muhammad Azam Khan and Justice Inam Amin Minhas also disposed of one case.
In the division benches, the bench comprising Justice Babar Sattar and Justice Sardar Ijaz Ishaq Khan disposed of the highest number of cases, concluding 412 matters. This bench was constituted to hear tax-related cases.
