The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) court has canceled the bail of Additional Director NCCA Choudhry Sarfraz in a bribery case on Wednesday.
The case, heard by an FIA Central Court judge, involves allegations of accepting bribes by NCCA officials. While bail was granted to Deputy Directors Zawar and Usman, the court rejected Choudhry Sarfraz’s bail application.
Lawyer Mian Ali Ashfaq, representing Sarfraz, argued that the FIA had failed to present evidence of bribery. He said the case involved alleged bribes of Rs 9 million, while recoveries exceeded Rs 40 million, and no complainant had come forward against the accused.
Lawyer Farooq Bajwa appeared for the two deputy directors whose bail applications were approved.
The FIA has registered the case against the NCCA officials for taking bribes.
