Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi said that Indian players provoked Pakistani players during the Under-19 Asia Cup final and that the matter would be reported to the International Cricket Council (ICC).
Speaking to the media at a reception hosted by the Prime Minister to honor Pakistan’s victorious Under-19 team, Naqvi emphasized the importance of keeping politics separate from sports. He stated, “Yesterday, Indian players again tried to provoke our players. We are informing the ICC regarding this behavior.”
Pakistan Under-19 team mentor Sarfaraz Ahmed also commented on the incident, describing India’s behavior as “completely unacceptable” and “unsportsmanlike.” He said the Pakistani team celebrated their win in the spirit of sportsmanship and praised the players for displaying teamwork and discipline.
The U-19 Asia Cup final, held on Sunday in Dubai, saw Pakistan defeat India by a commanding margin of 191 runs, thanks to a brilliant innings by Samir Minhas, securing the championship trophy.
