Pakistan rowers dominate Thailand International Regatta with 14 golds

Pakistani rowers delivered an outstanding performance at the Thailand International Rowing Regatta, winning a total of 20 medals, including 14 golds, across various categories.

The three-day event saw participation from over 200 rowers representing eight countries. Under the guidance of coach Asghar Ali, the Pakistani team showcased exceptional skill and competitiveness throughout the regatta.

Fariid Muhammad Arif emerged as the event’s top athlete, securing six gold and two silver medals, while Anaya Zaidi was named the best female rower after winning five gold medals. Additionally, Hooriya Faisal, daughter of former Test cricketer Faisal Iqbal, claimed a gold medal, adding to Pakistan’s remarkable haul.

Officials and team members highlighted that the success reflects the growing standards of rowing in Pakistan and the effectiveness of dedicated training and coaching programs.
