Politician and entertainment figures dominated Pakistani internet searches in 2025, according to Google’s annual report, Year in Search 2025. Wikipedia data shows that former Prime Minister and PTI founder Imran Khan was the most searched Pakistani personality, followed by former fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar and singer Atif Aslam.
In the entertainment sector, actors Mahira Khan, Iqra Aziz, and Hania Aamir remained the most popular online searches among Pakistani users. Other actors such as Fahad Mustafa, Wahaj Ali, and Danish Taimoor also featured prominently, with Danish Taimoor receiving particular attention for his role in the drama series Sher.
The report also revealed trends in sports, highlighting an unusual interest in international athletes. According to Google Trends 2025, Indian cricketer Abhishek Sharma was the most searched athlete in Pakistan. Among Pakistani cricketers, Hasan Nawaz, Irfan Khan Niazi, Sahibzada Farhan, Mohammad Abbas, and Saeem Ayub ranked high in online searches.
The Google report underscores Pakistani users’ growing engagement with both local and international personalities across politics, entertainment, and sports, reflecting wider trends in digital media consumption in the country.
