The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Tuesday summoned the Returning Officer (RO), District Returning Officer (DRO) and District Police Officer (DPO) in connection with a case alleging rigging in the NA-185 constituency, while also seeking a detailed report from the constituency’s RO.

The hearing was held on a petition filed by NA-185 candidate Sardar Dost Khoso. His counsel, Latif Khosa, appeared before the commission and submitted a report detailing the alleged irregularities.

A four-member bench headed by the ECP member from Sindh heard the case. During the proceedings, the ECP member from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa observed that under Section 9, the application would be submitted to the office.

The member from Sindh asked the petitioner’s counsel to clarify the allegations. Latif Khosa told the bench that polling stations and the RO office were unlawfully shifted. He also alleged that the DPO was transferred during the by-election in Dera Ghazi Khan, which, he claimed, affected the electoral process.

Following the hearing, the Election Commission issued notices to the RO, DRO and DPO, and also summoned the returned candidate from NA-185.The commission adjourned the hearing until January 7.
