Seven poachers caught hunting antelope, pigeons and partridges

Wildlife rangers apprehended seven individuals for the illegal hunting of a blackbuck (Paṛha Hiran), pigeons, and partridges in various parts of the district.

Official of District Forest and Wildlife Department said on Monday that in the suburban area of Mandi Ahmadabad, a rescued female blackbuck was taken for a medical examination and subsequently transferred to Head Suleman Wildlife Park for care and rehabilitation. Meanwhile, an FIR was registered against a poacher involved in hunting blackbucks in the Border Belt Public Wildlife Reserve, initiating formal legal proceedings.

In separate incidents in Attock and Fateh Jang, six hunters were fined a total of Rs369,000 for illegally hunting pigeons and partridges. Authorities emphasized that strict enforcement of wildlife protection laws is being maintained to curb poaching and preserve biodiversity in the region.
