The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government held a high-end technology and product development exhibition at the Chief Minister’s House, showcasing local innovations in healthcare, education, and industrial technology.
The exhibition featured locally developed PCR kits for Hepatitis B and C, HIV, and other diseases. Officials also demonstrated the use of liquid oxygen as an alternative to explosives in mining, advanced electrosurgical instruments, and an e-study card system for students.
Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sohail Khan Afridi, said the provincial government is committed to promoting innovation-based development and self-reliance. He added that these initiatives aim to add value to natural resources and drive economic growth through technology.
Afridi highlighted the government’s work in biomedicine and advanced materials, announcing Pakistan’s first project for producing artificial skin for burn care, developed in collaboration with Austria’s Fachhochschule University. The PCR kits project has been handed over to Khyber Medical University for further development and deployment.
He also emphasized the e-rickshaw project, which aims to reduce fuel dependence through locally produced electric vehicles. Through the e-study card system, students will have access to e-books, advanced learning features, and AI-powered tutors, enhancing the digital learning experience.
