Armed Forces pay tribute to Lance Naik Muhammad Mahfuz

The Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Asim Munir, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Baber Sidhu, and Naval Chief Admiral Naveed Ashraf paid tribute to Lance Naik Muhammad Mahfuz, recipient of the Nishan-e-Haider, on the 54th anniversary of his martyrdom, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The ISPR statement described Lance Naik Muhammad Mahfuz as a symbol of extraordinary bravery, sacrifice, and unwavering devotion to the homeland. During the 1971 war, while defending the Wagah sector, he confronted the enemy with exceptional courage.

Despite sustaining severe injuries and coming under continuous enemy fire, he pressed forward fearlessly and ultimately laid down his life for the country.

The statement highlighted that his heroism remains one of the brightest chapters in the history of Pakistan’s Armed Forces. His ultimate sacrifice exemplifies indomitable spirit, professional skill, and selflessness, strengthening the sacred bond between the armed forces and the nation.

On the occasion, the Armed Forces reaffirmed their commitment to safeguarding Pakistan’s sovereignty and security and pledged to ensure that the sacrifices of national heroes are never forgotten.

The ISPR concluded by noting that the legacy of Lance Naik Muhammad Mahfuz will remain etched in the collective memory of the nation and continue to serve as a shining example of courage, determination, and sacrifice for future generations.
