Saba Rashid sets new Guinness World Record for Pakistan in Nunchaku

2 min read

Pakistani martial artist Saba Rashid has created a new Guinness World Record in the nunchaku category, becoming the first from Pakistan to achieve this feat.

Saba completed 138 nunchaku rotations in one minute, surpassing the previous record of 120 held by India’s Kiran Uniyal. This marks her second Guinness World Record, following her earlier achievement in elbow strikes, where she performed 680 strikes in three minutes, also beating Kiran Uniyal.

Saba Rashid is married to Rashid Naseem, Pakistan’s most prolific Guinness World Record holder. Her family has a strong record-setting legacy: her daughter Fatima holds eight female category records, and her son achieved a Guinness record at just six years old. Rashid Naseem’s father has also set multiple world records for Pakistan.

Speaking about her achievement, Saba Rashid said it was inspired by her family’s dedication and represents a significant milestone for Pakistani women in sports. She added that many students from the Rashid Naseem Academy have also become world record holders. Saba expressed hope that government recognition and support would follow, enabling her to pursue even more international records.
