An Islamabad court has declared Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Soheil Afridi and four other members of the provincial assembly as proclaimed offenders in two cases registered by the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Islamabad.
According to judicial notices, the proclaimed offenders include Soheil Afridi, Meena Khan, Amjad Ali, Shafiullah Jan, and Iqbal Afridi. The court has directed all five accused to appear before it within 30 days.
Sources said the cases were registered by CTD Islamabad, and the court issued the proclamation orders after the accused failed to appear despite repeated summons.
The judicial advertisement clearly states that if the accused do not present themselves before the court within the stipulated 30 days, further legal action will be taken against them under the law.
It is pertinent to note that the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) had ordered the issuance of proclamation notices on December 4. Following these orders, Islamabad Police published the advertisements in compliance with the court’s directions.
