Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday reaffirmed the government’s zero tolerance policy against terrorism, saying decisive action would continue until the complete elimination of militants.
In a message on the 11th anniversary of the Army Public School (APS) tragedy in Peshawar, the prime minister paid tribute to the martyrs, stating that they laid down their lives for the future of the nation. He described the APS attack as a heartbreaking trial for the entire country.
The prime minister said the tragedy filled the nation’s hearts with grief but failed to break its resolve. He added that the true justice for the APS martyrs lay in the complete eradication of terrorism from Pakistan. He expressed solidarity with the families of the martyrs, saying the nation continued to share their pain.
Shehbaz Sharif said Pakistan was once again facing the menace of terrorism, with security personnel and innocent civilians being targeted in different parts of the country. He stressed that the state, security institutions and the public were united in their determination to defeat terrorism and extremism.
He further said that operations under the zero tolerance policy against terrorism would continue with full force and that the government would not rest until the last terrorist was eliminated.
