PCB Chairman announces international matches at Muzaffarabad Stadium

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi announced plans to host international matches at Muzaffarabad Stadium, officials said. The announcement came during a video-linked meeting of the PCB Board of Governors chaired by Naqvi.

The board approved the second phase of renovation for the National Cricket Stadium in Karachi and also greenlit upgrades for the LCCA Ground, which will be transformed into an oval-style venue.

During the meeting, the success of the PSL roadshows in London and New York was highlighted, with Chairman Naqvi and the team being lauded for their professionalism and hard work. The board also appreciated his personal efforts to continue the Sri Lanka cricket team’s recent tour of Pakistan. A resolution thanking Naqvi was passed by the Board of Governors members.

Mohsin Naqvi credited the success of the PSL and international tours to the collective efforts of the PCB team, emphasizing their dedication and consistent work to enhance PSL’s international brand. He said efforts are underway to host PSL 11 matches in Muzaffarabad Stadium, alongside international fixtures. Naqvi also announced plans to build a state-of-the-art cricket stadium in Islamabad.

In addition, the board was briefed on regional-level club scrutiny by a reputed private firm, as well as on upcoming ICC men’s and women’s tournaments, strengthening domestic cricket structures, and increasing the number of lower-level tournaments and matches.

The meeting was attended by PCB Board of Governors members including Ismail Qureshi, Tariq Sarwar, Sajad Ali Khokhar, Anwar Ghani, Zaheer Abbas, Tanveer Ahmed, along with Zafar Ullah, Mustafa Ramday, Adnan Malik, Additional Secretary Cabinet Division, COO PCB Sameer Ahmed, and CEO PSL Salman Naseer. Chief Financial Officer, Directors of Infrastructure, Domestic Cricket, and Commercial officials also participated.
