Pakistan Launches Online Fingerprint Verification for Passport Applicants

1 min read

The Pakistan Passport Department has launched a new online verification system that allows passport applicants to verify their fingerprints digitally, resolving previous technical issues.

Under the system, applicants can use NADRA’s Pak-ID app to authenticate their fingerprints quickly and securely. For those who face issues with fingerprint recognition, a face verification option is also available.

Director General of Passports, Mustafa Jamal Qazi, said the system specifically addresses complaints from overseas Pakistanis who previously faced difficulties with online fingerprint verification. The initiative also benefits senior citizens.

“Modern and convenient services are being introduced to make life easier for citizens,” Qazi added.

The new system is part of the department’s ongoing efforts to streamline passport services and reduce delays for applicants both inside and outside Pakistan.
