Pakistan Railways has taken a major step toward modernizing its educational institutions by outsourcing three key railway schools under the Public–Private Partnership (PPP) model, officials confirmed Thursday.
The signing ceremony was held under the supervision of Federal Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi, who said the initiative aimed to provide railway employees’ children with “a bright and promising future.”
Under the new arrangements, Railway Boys & Girls School Karachi will be managed by TYMS Education System, while Railway Girls High School Mughalpura, Lahore, and Railway Girls Saint Andrews School/College, Lahore, have been handed over to SAGE/DAGE Education Pvt. Ltd. Agreements for Karachi were signed by Tayyab Mirza, and Lahore agreements were signed by Dr. Nasir Mahmood.
The private partners will implement a modern curriculum, introduce advanced teaching methods, upgrade examination systems, and equip schools with science and computer labs, sports facilities, and renovated buildings.
Additional classrooms and structural improvements are also planned to meet growing academic needs.
Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Abbasi said: “The future of railway employees’ children is now in safe hands.
This initiative is an important step towards providing modern, high-standard, and self-sustaining educational centers for our students.”
Officials said the initiative reflects the government’s commitment, in line with the Prime Minister’s vision, to improve education standards while safeguarding the rights of railway employees and their children.
