Chief Justice of the Lahore High Court, Alia Neelum, has expressed concern over the arrests of underage drivers for violating traffic laws.
During a meeting with the Inspector General of Punjab Police at the Lahore High Court, Justice Neelum directed authorities to first run awareness campaigns targeting children who drive motorcycles or cars before taking legal action. She emphasized that warnings should be issued to young drivers initially, and legal proceedings should follow only if violations are repeated.
The Chief Justice highlighted the need for a balanced approach that educates minors about traffic rules while maintaining enforcement of the law.
