Pakistani qawwals delivered a mesmerising performance at the ongoing International Samaa Festival for Spiritual Music in Cairo, drawing strong appreciation from audiences, officials said on Sunday.
Pakistan’s Ambassador to Egypt, Aamir Shoukat, praised the special performance by the Badr Ali and Bahadur Ali Qawwal Group on the third day of the festival. He commended their musical mastery and noted the warm response from the Egyptian audience, who embraced the depth and rhythm of traditional qawwali.
The ambassador also extended gratitude to the festival organisers for providing an influential global platform that promotes spiritual music, particularly qawwali, across Egypt and beyond. He said the event plays a vital role in strengthening cultural exchanges and showcasing Pakistan’s rich Sufi musical heritage.
