The Sindh government has appealed to the World Bank for support on two major transport projects the Karachi Circular Railway and the Karachi-Sukkur High-Speed Train describing them as key priorities for the province.

Senior Provincial Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon met with a World Bank delegation in Karachi to discuss ways to enhance urban mobility, strengthen the transport system, and explore different development models across the province.

Sharjeel Memon said the Karachi Circular Railway and the high-speed train project could be “game changers” for Sindh and emphasized the government’s desire for the World Bank to play an active role in their implementation.

During the meeting, Memon briefed the delegation on the ongoing Yellow Line BRT project, noting that a section of the Taj Haider Bridge has been completed while work on the remaining parts is progressing rapidly.
