Hamza Ali Abbasi backs rapper Talha Anjum in Indian flag controversy

2 min read

Pakistani actor Hamza Ali Abbasi has come forward in support of rapper Talha Anjum after controversy erupted over the artist waving the Indian flag. In a video message shared on social media, Abbasi urged Pakistanis not to spread hatred toward India, even during times of political tension between the two countries.

Abbasi said the reaction he witnessed after the incident compelled him to speak up. He stressed that hostility between nations should not lead to hatred toward entire populations. “If we do that, we become no different from people like Arnab Goswami and General Bakshi,” he remarked.

The actor emphasized that not all people in India are extremists or hostile toward Pakistan. Millions, he said, appreciate Pakistani culture and art. He added that India is Pakistan’s neighbor, and while an extremist government may be in power today, that may not be the case tomorrow. Quoting the Quran, he reminded viewers that enmity with any nation must not drive Muslims toward injustice.

Hamza Ali Abbasi’s message received mixed reactions online. Many users praised his stance, while others criticized him for defending Talha Anjum. The debate continues to spark widespread discussion across social media platforms.
