PTI leader Taimur Saleem Jhagra barred from traveling abroad

1 min read

Former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa minister and PTI leader Taimur Saleem Jhagra was prevented from leaving the country at Bacha Khan International Airport, officials and the leader confirmed on social media.

Jhagra said he was traveling to Washington D.C. to attend an event at Georgetown University when immigration authorities stopped him from boarding. He was reportedly informed that his name appears on the PNIL list and that his passport had been deactivated.

The PTI leader added that he had written to the Interior Secretary ten days ago regarding his travel plans but did not receive any response. Due to growing concerns, he personally submitted a letter to the Ministry of Interior before attempting his departure.

The incident has raised questions over restrictions placed on politicians and former ministers regarding international travel.
