Senator Irfan Siddiqui in ICU, likely to miss vote on 27th Constitutional Amendment

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senator Irfan Siddiqui is undergoing treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a local hospital in Islamabad due to severe respiratory issues, his family confirmed.

According to sources, Siddiqui has been unwell for the past few days and is receiving critical care, making it unlikely that he will be able to cast his vote on the 27th Constitutional Amendment.

The joint parliamentary committee of the Senate and National Assembly approved all 49 clauses of the amendment yesterday, and it is expected to be presented in the Senate today.

Meanwhile, the United Opposition has rejected the amendment, announcing plans to protest, halt parliamentary proceedings, and campaign against its approval.
