The District and Sessions Courts Islamabad have issued an arrest warrant against former Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Sardar Tanveer Ilyas in connection with a diplomatic passport case.
During the hearing, Judicial Magistrate Ahmed Shehzad Gondal rejected a request submitted by Tanveer Ilyas seeking exemption from appearing in court. The court ordered that he be arrested and presented before the judiciary, while adjourning further proceedings until November 24.
The case against Tanveer Ilyas was registered by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA). The court’s action comes amid ongoing investigations into alleged irregularities related to diplomatic passports.
