Zia Zulfiqar, brother of social media personality ‘Ducky Bhai’, has appealed to the public and media to stop involving his wife Arub in the ongoing legal case over promotion of betting apps.

In a video message, Zia said his mother and sister-in-law have already endured severe emotional distress due to the case. He also dismissed viral social media claims suggesting that his brother, Saad, faces seven years in prison and a fine of Rs1.5 crore.

“During my visit to the jail, Saad was visibly upset and said he could not understand why this is happening. He has been in custody for three months, including 22 days on physical remand, with the rest spent in jail,” Zia told reporters.

He added that the case has had a profound impact not just on Saad, but on the entire family, especially the women. “Several reporters and social media pages have spread misinformation, mixing fact with fiction,” he said.

Zia Zulfiqar emphasized that their legal action against the National Counter Corruption Initiative (NCCI) is not solely for personal gain but also to support others who have been victims of blackmail. “During jail visits, I learned from other inmates that many are also facing similar exploitation,” he said.

He praised the FIA Anti-Corruption Circle for their full cooperation in the case, stating that while NCCI as an institution is not corrupt, some individuals misused their authority. Zia urged anyone facing blackmail from government officials to approach the FIA Anti-Corruption Circle with evidence, assuring that help will be provided.

“Thanks to the FIA’s support, our faith in the system has been restored,” he concluded.
