Pakistan’s Mikaeel Ali Baig captured his third consecutive ITF singles title by defeating fellow Pakistani Hamza Roman 6-4, 6-4 in the Boys’ Singles Final of the ITF Pakistan National Foods World Junior Tennis Championship J-60 2025 at the PTF-SDA Tennis Complex, Islamabad.
The prestigious tournament attracted young talent from across the globe, including China, Japan, Kazakhstan, Korea, Lithuania, Russia, Thailand, Turkey, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, Nepal, and host nation Pakistan. The event was proudly sponsored by National Foods of Pakistan.
In the Boys’ Doubles Final, Pakistan’s Hamza Roman and Abubakar Talha defeated Mikaeel Ali Baig and Lithuania’s Kristijonas 6-4, 6-4, showcasing exceptional teamwork. Hamza Roman also finished as the singles runner-up.
The closing ceremony featured Mr. Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani, Federal Secretary of the Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination, as Chief Guest, and Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi, President of PTF, as Guest of Honour. Prizes were distributed to winners and runners-up, with attendance from officials, parents, coaches, journalists, and tennis enthusiasts.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani praised the PTF for hosting successful international events and assured government support for future tournaments. Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi highlighted Pakistan’s remarkable achievement of five ITF singles titles in just six months, crediting Mikaeel, Nadir Mirza, and Abubakar Talha for elevating the nation’s junior tennis profile.
The three-week championship concluded successfully, signaling a bright future for Pakistani tennis on the international stage.
