FIA Peshawar arrests four in fake citizenship case

1 min read

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Peshawar Zone has foiled an attempt to illegally obtain Pakistani citizenship, arresting four individuals, including an Afghan national.

According to an FIA spokesperson, the Anti-Corruption Circle Peshawar carried out the operation in coordination with the NADRA Regional Office Peshawar. The arrested individuals have been identified as Sadiqullah, Samiullah, Fayyaz Khan, and Younus Khan.

The spokesperson said that Sadiqullah, an Afghan national, was attempting to acquire Pakistani citizenship using forged documents, while Younus Khan allegedly posed as Sadiqullah’s father at NADRA to facilitate the fraud. Fayyaz Khan and Samiullah reportedly acted as witnesses and certifiers, providing false verification to support the illegal citizenship application.

The FIA has initiated investigations into the case, and further legal action is expected against the accused.
