The Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) on Saturday announced its support for the 27th Constitutional Amendment and expressed willingness to cooperate with the government on national reconciliation initiatives.
The decision was made during a high-level consultative meeting of the party, chaired by Senior Vice President Chaudhry Salik Hussain. He briefed the parliamentary party on his recent meeting with the Prime Minister and shared details of the discussion.
The meeting was attended by Tariq Hassan, Dr Amjad, Mustafa Malik, Farrukh Khan and other senior party leaders.
It is worth mentioning that the federal cabinet has already approved the 27th Constitutional Amendment. Following cabinet approval, the amendment will now be presented in the Senate. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who is currently in Azerbaijan, chaired the cabinet meeting via video link.
Participants of the federal cabinet meeting included Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, Musadik Malik, Rana Sanaullah, Riaz Hussain Pirzada, Awn Chaudhry, Shizra Mansab and Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh. Law Minister and Attorney General Mansoor Usman Awan were also in attendance.
