Islamabad Police held a prestigious ceremony at the Police Lines to honor officers recognized for their bravery and sacrifices in the line of duty. The event was attended by Inspector General (IG) Islamabad, Sayed Ali Nasir Rizvi, as the chief guest, along with senior officials, awardees, and their families.

During the ceremony, the courage and dedication of police officers were publicly acknowledged. 21 officers were awarded the Sitara-e-Shujaat (Bravery Medal), while 15 officers received the Ghazi Medal along with certificates of appreciation. In addition to the medals, recipients of the Shujaat Medal were granted PKR 200,000, and Ghazi Medal awardees received PKR 100,000.

According to IG Islamabad, 168 officers of the Islamabad Police have attained the status of “Ghazi” for their service, having risked injuries while performing their duties without concern for their own safety.

Speaking at the event, IG Rizvi described the officers as “fearless and invaluable assets to the nation.” He added that the families of those who make sacrifices for the country also deserve respect, and that history will always remember those who give their present to protect others’ future.

“I feel proud to be among these brave officers today. My salute goes to the mothers and elders who have nurtured them,” Rizvi said, emphasizing the significance of their heroism.

The ceremony concluded with the IG acknowledging the entire Islamabad Police force for their ongoing commitment and dedication to public service.
