Sindh records 4 dengue deaths in 24 hours, cases cross 10,500 this year

The dengue outbreak in Sindh has intensified, with four more deaths reported in the past 24 hours, according to the Sindh Health Department. The latest fatalities have pushed the provincial death toll to 25 this year.

Health officials said that 1,192 new dengue cases were confirmed across Sindh in a single day, including 642 in Karachi and 550 in Hyderabad.

This year, a total of 10,502 dengue cases have been reported in the province. At present, 227 patients are under treatment in government hospitals and 212 in private healthcare facilities.

In Karachi, 257 beds have been allocated for dengue patients in government hospitals, while 195 beds are reserved in private hospitals.

According to the Health Department, 37 laboratories are conducting dengue tests in Karachi — 12 public and 25 private. In Hyderabad, 18 labs are providing testing services, including 7 public and 11 private facilities.

Of the four deaths reported in the last 24 hours, three were children and one was a woman. The victims included a three-year-old girl in Hyderabad, a six-year-old boy in Badin, an 11-year-old boy in Karachi, and a 30-year-old woman in Karachi.
