The Virtual Women Police Station has arrested a rickshaw driver accused of repeatedly harassing a female college student in Lahore’s Defence B area, following a complaint received on the 15 helpline.
According to a Safe City Authority spokesperson, the student’s family reported the harassment incident, prompting the immediate dispatch of a police team to the location.
The victim’s father stated that the rickshaw driver had been harassing his daughter during her daily commute to and from college. A female officer from the Safe City Authority contacted the student and assured her of full protection.
Police apprehended the suspect on the spot and registered a case against him. Initial investigations revealed that the driver had a history of similar behaviour.
The spokesperson urged women to promptly report any harassment or distressing situation through the 15 helpline or by using the Women Safety App.
