The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Wednesday announced the nominees for the October 2025 Player of the Month Awards, featuring standout performers from Pakistan, South Africa, Afghanistan, India and Australia.

Pakistan’s left-arm spinner Nauman Ali earned a nomination for the men’s award following his impressive performances against South Africa. His disciplined bowling spells and key breakthroughs played a central role in Pakistan’s competitive showing during the series.

Joining him on the three-man shortlist are Senuran Muthusamy of South Africa and Afghanistan’s star leg-spinner Rashid Khan, both of whom delivered notable performances in bilateral fixtures last month. Rashid’s skilful T20 outings and consistency once again kept him in the global spotlight, securing him a place among the top contenders.

Meanwhile, the ICC also revealed the nominees for the Women’s Player of the Month Award for October. South Africa’s captain Laura Wolvaardt leads the list after a run-rich month across formats. India’s stylish opener Smriti Mandhana and Australia’s all-rounder Ashleigh Gardner complete the women’s shortlist, recognised for their influential displays with bat and ball respectively.

The winners will be decided through a combination of public votes and an ICC voting academy, with results expected to be announced in the coming days.
